Ginette (Gigi) Hamilton is lead singer for (BAND 1) "The G4s Rock&Roll Band", a general audience 50s, 60s, old country, jazz standards, motown and popular modern songs group, and also shares front vocals with her show (BAND 2) "Sentimental Journey", performing 30s, 40s and 50s tunes, and catering specifically to the older generation, seniors homes, legions, and hospitals.
Entering the music scene considerably late in life, at the age of 36, she says "I was fortunate to be surrounded by some of the best musicians in the area, and they so willingly and professionally shared their experiences, talents and pointers with me......it was info-intake for the first 5 years, then falling on my face (musically speaking!) for the next!.....but what an education!".
During the 1990s, Gigi was invited to sing for Prime Minister Jean Chretien, celebrating the first official Canadian Flag Day. She also wrote, produced, promoted and performed in her own dinner/theatre show "Patsy Cline - A Review", which ran to sold out audiences throughout the National Capital area for about 7 years. As a result of the success of this show, she and her band went on to share the stage with the likes of John Allan Cameron, Joan Kennedy and Bobby Curtolla, and she was invited as a guest performer to the Ottawa Valley Country Music Hall of Fame Ceremonies, hosted by Gordie Tapp in 2000, and again invited in 2012. She also performed in Europe during Holland's Jazz Festival in 2001. Today she has stretched out to theatre, having leading roles in two local theatre productions, "HATS" in 2011, and "NUNSENSE" in 2012, stating "it was on my bucket list!". A versatile singer, with a unique voice style, and sings everything from rock to jazz, country to pop, disco to blues.
